Our Philosophy
OKC First Youth is always seeking ways to tie positive experiences to Gospel living.
Our community of students strives to live the mission of Christ that embraces God, one another, and the world with liberation, redemption, reconciliation and recovery.
There is no “them”, just us.
Micah 6:8 (NRSV)
He has told you, O mortal, what is good;
and what does the Lord require of you
but to do justice, and to love kindness,
and to walk humbly with your God?

Regular Meeting Schedule
Sundays
Sunday School | 9:30 - 10:15am
Middle School | CCC Room 1
High School | CCC Room 2
Wednesdays
Pre Service | 6:00 - 6:30pm
Students are welcome to come play in the gym, hang out in the bistro, or help set up for service
Youth Programing | 6:30 - 8:00pm
There are three elements that go into a Wednesday Night:
Worship: Students will worship together in a service format by grade level. They come together, pass peace, sing, and hear the word preached.
Discipleship: Our Life Together groups (LT) are where your student will meet by gender and grade level. Middle Schoolers will participate in an opening discussion or activity which will prepare them for the evening. High School will have discussion, at the end of the night, meant to apply the word preached to real life.
Play: This brings the grade levels together in the gym to participate in group games led by parent volunteers. We believe that some of the best friendship building happens when we come together and have fun! We are always looking to connect positive experiences to the gospel.
Year at a Glance
We understand that your life is packed full of things that all deserve your attention. That's why we work hard to take our communication with you seriously by letting you know in advance when events are going to take place. Obviously, it's difficult to predict all that will happen between now and a year from now, but we want to provide a quick look at everything that we know for sure will be happening!
Final Thoughts
Your student is no longer in Children's ministry. Students are expected to have some level of care for themselves. We no longer "hand hold" them through the steps of ministry. That is not to say that we won't be walking next to them, but we do expect them to have and take an age appropriate level of responsibility for themselves and those around them.
Our purpose/goal is not simply to entertain your student. We strive to challenge students and place them in areas of ministry that not only give them opportunities to change the planet but also be shaped into the very image of Christ.
[but don't worry - we're going to have the most fun along the way]
If they can give themselves over to this journey with Christ, they can always expect to be challenged, shaped, and spent for the Kingdom.
Please do not hesitate to contact your youth pastors with questions concerning youth. We can't wait to make this journey with your student!
